Students are required to undertake an independent research project on a healthcare management topic of their choice, under faculty supervision, aimed at addressing a real-world issue in the field of healthcare management.
Applying Learned Research Methodologies:
Students are expected to apply previously acquired research methods to:
- Formulate clear and logical research questions
- Conduct a literature review to gather foundational insights
- Design a research framework suitable for the topic's context
Data Collection and Analysis:
Students collect and analyze either quantitative data (e.g., surveys, financial records, statistics) or qualitative data (e.g., interviews, case studies), depending on their research approach.
Interpreting Research Findings in Practical Contexts:
Research results are interpreted and analyzed based on existing literature and current industry practices, ensuring objectivity and alignment with research objectives.
Producing a Thesis or Project Report:
Students compile their findings into a comprehensive thesis or project report, presenting research results and offering practical recommendations to enhance management effectiveness or improve healthcare policies.
Graduation
AMU recognizes the results to award the Master of Science in Healthcare Management, while SIMI Swiss relies on AMU's results to independently award the Master of Health and Social Care Management.
Entry Requirements
Entry requirements:
To enroll this program, learners must possess one of the criteria below:
- A bachelor’s degree in the field or related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 or equivalent, as accepted by AMU; OR
- A bachelor’s degree in the field or related fields or equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 and not meeting a CGPA of 2.50, can be accepted subject to rigorous internal assessment.
Please note:
- Candidates without a qualification in the related fields or working experience in the relevant fields must undergo appropriate prerequisite courses determined by AMU and meet the minimum CGPA based on (1) to (2).
English requirements:
If a learner is not from a predominantly English-speaking country, proof of English language proficiency must be provided through one of the following:
- IELTS: 6.0
- TOEFL iBT: 60
- Pearson Test of English: 59
- Cambridge English Qualifications and Test: 169

- In case of not having an English proficiency certificate, the candidate can provide it within 6 months.
